At first blush, the old, highly caloric, raisin cake analogy seemed to perfectly describe the status of the Arena of Space in which we find Our Universe.
What really happened was that the chef misdirected our attention to a small section of the cake. The important action took place in the ball of batter and the oven in which it was baked.
Let us examine the new Einstein kitchen using the Space Station as our working site to eliminate the effects of gravity. We can now prepare our raisin cake batter in a manner that let’s the whole world know how the analogy relates to Our Universe.
To prepare the cake – center a basket ball size batch of batter in Space Station’s large solar oven.
And this is the result – a slow motion picture of a cake expanding with randomly disbursed raisins surrounded by batter all moving away from the center of this marvelous ball of batter.
The old raisin cake analogy so often used to demonstrate the expansion of Our Universe only used a small section from our New Einstein Raisin Cake. The original argument said that this small section of raisin cake had no center and that this piece of cake represented our whole universe with no center – a very shortsighted argument.
This New Einstein Raisin Cake Analogy is a perfect description of the Big Bang & what the Hubble Space Telescope and other Space Sensors are telling us today. Using the raisin cake analogy we can now view the whole Universe as this whole ball of cake.
From the Center of our cake (representing the epicenter of the Big Bang Explosion) we find Earth only some 60 million light years away from dead center (((some 0.2% of the 15 billion light year radius of the Universe, based on our speed through the Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation))).
And our every view of the Universe from such a great vantage point looks superficially isotropic and superficially homogeneous due to the great number of galaxies we find in this ocean Universe of Ours.
Note: I use superficial because any unique background detail always disappears when viewed from a great distance.
